【PROMPT】Crate Machinery Should Establish Equipment Maintenance Standards

2025/11/28 Viewers:

The maintenance and upkeep of equipment are undoubtedly essential tasks in equipment management. Currently, many carton manufacturing enterprises do not strictly adhere to the relevant regulations or maintenance manuals for equipment. Although daily maintenance and upkeep are scheduled, very few actually carry out these tasks effectively. Moreover, the responsibilities for equipment maintenance are often unclear in some carton enterprises, with no clear assignment to responsible personnel or corresponding reward and penalty measures in place.

A common scenario we often observe is as follows: suppose a carton manufacturer operates two shifts per day. Many on-duty employees, despite being fully aware of equipment malfunctions, persist in production, deliberately leaving equipment issues for the next shift's operators. In reality, such behavior poses severe harm to the machinery. Due to the lack of proactive maintenance among operators, repairs are only carried out after machine breakdowns, which not only increases costs but also disrupts production. Another contributing factor stems from weak maintenance awareness among management, who prioritize output over equipment upkeep, resorting to passive management. Sometimes, they even skip necessary daily maintenance under the pretext of urgent production demands.

Is the maintenance and upkeep of equipment truly that important for carton enterprises? The answer is a definite yes. As the saying goes, "A small leak will sink a great ship." If left unaddressed, it will significantly impact production. Proper maintenance and upkeep can reduce equipment failures, improve utilization rates, and generate higher economic benefits. Conversely, high failure rates will lead to increased repair and operational costs, shortened equipment lifespan, reduced investment value, and higher downtime rates, all of which affect production.

 Establish equipment maintenance standards

In the equipment maintenance and upkeep system, for the maintenance phase, it is essential to require that each process or machine has a record form. These forms should document the operation, maintenance, and repair of the equipment in real time, such as "Equipment Operation and Maintenance Records," "Inspection and Repair Records," "Fault Records," "Inspection Records," and "Equipment Capability Approval Records." These records not only specify the daily maintenance tasks that operators must perform but also provide documentation for routine upkeep, fault occurrences, and repairs. The preparation and distribution of equipment maintenance procedure documents mark only the beginning of equipment maintenance work. To ensure effective implementation, certain measures must be implemented for control. For instance, establishing a strict and effective reward and punishment system, linking equipment maintenance costs to employee income to encourage proactive maintenance efforts; while supervisors at all levels conduct necessary supervision and inspections. Ultimately, these measures help employees develop good work habits during production
