At a recent press conference, the State Post Bureau disclosed that the postal industry has achieved significant progress in promoting green packaging, with electronic waybills and reusable transit bags now nearly universally adopted. In terms of material reduction, the number of packaging box layers and the thickness of packaging bags have been reduced by over 50%, while the width of tape has decreased by 25%. The application of intelligent packing algorithms has further lowered material usage by nearly 20%. The utilization rate of reusable packaging in same-city express delivery has reached 10%.

    The packaging recycling system continues to improve, with over 800 million reusable cartons recycled annually. Additionally, four enterprises, including postal services, have piloted the application of circular packaging in scenarios such as fresh food cold chain logistics and government document delivery across more than 20 cities, further advancing the implementation of resource recycling models.

    Modern information technology is injecting strong momentum into the green and low-carbon development of the postal industry. Distribution centers are accelerating their intelligent upgrades, while technologies such as photovoltaic power generation and smart sorting are being rapidly implemented. Hydrogen energy and clean energy vehicles are being widely adopted. As of now, the total photovoltaic installation area in the postal industry has reached 4.48 million square meters, with over 1,000 green distribution centers and more than 12,500 green outlets established. The number of new energy and clean energy vehicles has exceeded 75,000.

    According to Tianyancha Professional Edition data, there are currently over 2.888 million packaging-related enterprises in China that are operational and in active status. Among these, approximately 459,000 new registrations were made since 2025. In terms of registration trends, the number of packaging-related enterprises has been increasing year by year over the past five years, peaking in 2024.

    In terms of regional distribution, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces rank among the top nationwide in the number of packaging-related enterprises, with figures exceeding 474,000, 393,000, and 309,000 respectively. Shanghai and Shandong follow closely, securing positions within the top five in terms of enterprise count.
